The main aim of the study is reference and its role in translation.

The research is based on the communicatively-functional approach and includes the theoretical analysis of the special literature, selection of the texts which are subject to the analysis, with application of a rather-comparative method of research of texts of the original and transfer and revealing of corresponding strategy of the translator, statistical processing of the received data and linguistic interpretation of the received results.

First of all let’s tell the general definition of reference:

«A reference, or a references point, is the intensional use of one thing, a point of reference or reference state, to indicate something else. When reference is intended, what the reference points to is called the referent. »
